It won't reverse the sun bleach in a black coat, but it helps protect against it and polishes up an already black horse. For sun bleached coats you need hair dye, not color depositing shampoo.

not my favorite coat enhancer but works in a pinch ok. have an extremely dark bay and this barely covers the red in the summer from his bleached out coat
It can be difficult owning a black horse over the summer even with nigh only turn out he still sometimes get's a little bit of red in his coat. This shampoo almost gives him a blue tint to his coat at shows while not damaging his white socks. Absolutely a must for anyone with a black horse!
