Absorbine Ultra Shield EX fly spray from W.F. Young.
Weatherproof, sweat resistant formula provides long-lasting repellency and up to 17-day protection from biting and nuisance flies, gnats, ticks and mosquitoes. Non-oily, water-based repellent is pleasantly scented with citronella; contains sunscreens and conditioners including aloe and lanolin. Contains 0.5% permethrin, 0.1% pyrethrins and 1% piperonyl butoxide. Horses - Apply as a spray or wipe; do not exceed 2 oz per application. Repeat every 7-10 days; as protection builds, every 12-17 days. Reapply after exposure to water. Dogs - Treat every 3-4 weeks during flea season; provides protection for up to 28 days. May also be used in dog's sleeping quarters and as a premise spray. For use on horses and dogs over 12 weeks old.

Keeps flies at bay and doesn't smell awful. Does about a good of a job in the Mid-Atlantic as any fly spray I've seen.

This spray is definitely the most popular at our barn. It works well, lasts a long time, and smells good!

The ULTIMATE Fly Spray

Although this fly spray is one of the most expensive on the market it is by far the best. After you begin using it regularly you have to use it less and less often because it is so long lasting, even through sweat!! I only went through 2 bottles this summer for my guy.

Best residual fly spray

The residual action of this fly spray makes it the best for me, with the pleasant scent, ability to use it on my horses and dogs (and myself!) and ease of use, there isn't another better. Typically lasts 4-5 days of noticeable repellency which is great for a boarding situation.
